Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know to get started.

Is Xendly Mail free?

Yes. Anyone can create a free personal email address at @xendly.email — no domain, no card and no subscription. The free account includes 1 GB of mailbox storage, webmail, the iPhone and Android apps, calendar, contacts, push notifications, IMAP/SMTP access and video meetings. Paid plans exist only for businesses that want email on a domain they own.

Is Xendly Mail a Rwandan email provider?

Yes. Xendly Mail is built and operated by Xendly Corp Ltd, based in Kigali, Rwanda. It is a Rwandan alternative to Gmail and Outlook for a free personal inbox, and it bills its paid plans in Rwandan francs through MTN MoMo and Airtel Money instead of a foreign card.

How much storage does a free @xendly.email account get?

1 GB of mailbox storage. Paid plans come with a larger shared pool across all your mailboxes, and you can top that up with add-ons.

Do I need my own domain?

Not for a free @xendly.email address — that needs nothing but a name and a password. You only need a domain for the paid plans, which host email on a domain you own: add it in the dashboard and publish the DNS records we generate (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC).

Can I make video calls with Xendly Mail?

Yes. Xendly Meet is built in and included with every address, free ones too. A meeting holds up to 5 people, runs in the browser and in the mobile apps, and guests join from a link without an account. You get screen sharing from a computer, in-call chat, raise-hand and a lobby. Meetings are not recorded, and screen sharing is not available from a phone.

How old do I have to be to sign up?

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Xendly Mail account.

How do I pay?

With Mobile Money — MTN MoMo or Airtel Money — in RWF. Choose monthly or yearly. You can also buy extra mailboxes and storage as you grow. This only applies to the paid plans; the free @xendly.email address needs no payment method at all.

What's the difference between the dashboard and webmail?

The dashboard (app.xendly.email) is for the account owner to manage domains, mailboxes and billing. The webmail (mail.xendly.email) is where anyone with a mailbox signs in with their email + password to read and send. A teammate only needs a mailbox — no Xendly account.

Can I use Apple Mail, Outlook or the Gmail app?

Yes. Every mailbox works over standard IMAP and SMTP. Use the built‑in webmail, your favourite desktop client, or add the mailbox as an external account in the Gmail app.

How many mailboxes and aliases do I get?

A free @xendly.email account is a single mailbox. On the paid plans it depends on the plan — Starter includes 3 mailboxes, Pro includes 10, and each mailbox can have up to 10–15 aliases. You can buy more mailboxes anytime.

Will my mail land in spam?

We configure SPF, DKIM and DMARC for every domain and keep the platform's sending reputation clean, so your mail is trusted. Brand‑new domains can take a day or two to build reputation with some providers.

What happens if I don't pay?

You keep receiving and reading mail, but sending pauses until your plan is active again. Your data isn't deleted.

Can I leave / export my mail?

Always. Connect any IMAP client to download or move your mail. You can delete mailboxes or your whole account whenever you want.

Is my email private?

Yes. We don't read, sell, or use your email for advertising. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Can I self‑host Xendly Mail?

Self‑hosting the full stack on your own servers is on the roadmap for teams that want total data ownership.
